Saturday, August 15, 2026 -Ellie Taylor has officially been confirmed as the new host of BBC’s Strictly – It Takes Two, bringing a familiar face back to the franchise ahead of the 2026 series.
The comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant was announced on Saturday, replacing Fleur East and Janette Manrara after both departed the companion show. Taylor previously competed on Strictly in 2022, finishing seventh alongside professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
The appointment comes as It Takes Two undergoes a major refresh alongside wider changes to Strictly Come Dancing. Taylor’s return gives the programme a presenter who already understands the pressure, excitement and behind-the-scenes drama of the competition from personal experience. Her energetic television style and comedy background could also bring a different pace to the weekday show as the BBC looks to attract and retain viewers.
Taylor is expected to take over from September as the new Strictly season gets underway, putting her at the centre of one of the BBC’s biggest entertainment franchises. Her appointment has already generated strong interest among fans, particularly because of her previous connection with the show. With a new presenting team and fresh professional dancers also joining Strictly this year, Taylor’s arrival signals that the BBC is betting on a bold new era for It Takes Two.
