Saturday, August 15, 2026 -Slipknot has confirmed that longtime DJ and turntablist Sid Wilson is no longer part of the band, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his future.
The band issued a brief statement on August 14 saying the split was effective immediately and wishing Wilson well in his future endeavors. The announcement was later deleted from Slipknot’s social media accounts, but the group’s Knotfest account also shared the confirmation, leaving little doubt that Wilson has departed.
The confirmation follows reports that first emerged on July 31 claiming Wilson had been permanently removed from the group. Rumours intensified after guitarist Jim Root urged fans not to believe everything they read and to wait for more information.
Reports later alleged that tensions involving Wilson’s behaviour toward his bandmates played a role in the decision, but Slipknot has not publicly provided a reason for his departure.
Wilson, known as #0 and also as DJ Starscream, had been a defining part of Slipknot’s sound and stage identity since joining the band in 1998. His exit represents another major change for the group following the departures of Chris Fehn, Craig Jones and Jay Weinberg in recent years.
With the band now facing another significant lineup shake-up, fans are waiting for clarity on who will replace Wilson and what his departure means for Slipknot’s next chapter.
